51猎奇听seeks听experienced, student-centered instructors to join our instructional听pool of part-time听communications faculty. Applicants should clearly听indicate听their qualifications to teach听both public speaking and interpersonal communications courses.听

Reporting to the Department Chair for General Education and Social Sciences, part-time faculty are assigned to course sections based on their qualifications, interest, performance, and听course section availability.听听

This is a听hybrid (St. Petersburg, FL) and听remote online part-time faculty position. Instructional faculty at 51猎奇 teach online using pre-built course shells with common readings, activities, and assignments across all sections.听Hybrid courses in St. Petersburg include some evening hours during the work week.听

Duties and Responsibilities:听The following duties and responsibilities, but not limited to, are expected:

• Implementing courses as designed by the University.听听
• Bringing their own knowledge and听expertise听to bear on the subject matter.听听
• Engaging听regularly听and substantively with students via email, announcements, and online discussion boards.听听
• Providing听timely, high-quality feedback on student work.听听
• Holding regular virtual office hours.听听
• Keeping the department chair apprised听of听any听student or course issues.听听
• Following听University听policies.听听
• Completing University-required training and attending required pre-term meetings.听听

Qualifications:听To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • A master鈥檚 degree or PhD in Communications or a master鈥檚 degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in communications.听听
• Experience teaching听communications (including public speaking)听in an asynchronous online environment.听听
• Experience听with the Canvas learning management system preferred.听听
• A student-centered teaching听approach.听听
• A commitment to supporting the success of all students, including those听underserved听by traditional higher education.听

Compensation is provided at a rate of听$1,000 per credit hour per course,听with low-enrollment courses paid at a directed study rate. The salary range reflects the University鈥檚 good faith estimate at the time of posting.
